At Montessori Minds Childcare and Kindergarten in Geelong, we believe in celebrating the special people who shape our children’s lives. This year, our Father’s Day 2025 celebration was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories as our children welcomed their dads into the centre for a day just for them.
To make the day extra special, we held two sessions. In the morning, our Kindergarten rooms — Feathertop, Woodridge, and Twynam — hosted their dads from 9–10 am, and in the afternoon our Pre-Kindergarten rooms — Baw Baw, Cradle, and Bimberi — invited fathers to join from 3–4 pm. This gave every child the chance to share quality time with their dad in a warm and joyful setting.
Games, Giggles, and a Little Friendly Competition
Our educators had so much fun planning activities that would bring out the playful side of our dads. From the excitement of tug of war to the laughter-filled challenge of eating an apple from a bowl without using hands, the games were full of energy and smiles. The nappy-changing race was a favourite — with children cheering on their dads as they showed off their “super-dad” skills!
Food Made with Love
A celebration isn’t complete without something delicious to share, and our wonderful Chef Jesse created a spread that was enjoyed by dads and children alike. Sitting together and sharing food made the day feel even more like a family gathering.
Handprints and Heart prints
Perhaps the most treasured part of the day was the photo booth and hand-painting station. Fathers and children painted each other’s hands, leaving colourful prints on canvas as keepsakes. These handprints weren’t just art — they were little snapshots of love, joy, and the special bond between dads and their children.
A Day to Remember
Seeing the dads from Feathertop, Woodridge, Twynam, Baw Baw, Cradle, and Bimberi laughing, playing, and creating with their children filled our centre with warmth. It was a beautiful reminder of how important these family moments are, and how much children cherish time spent with their parents.
We are so thankful to all the fathers who joined us and made this day so meaningful. At Montessori Minds, we know children flourish when families are actively part of their journey — and Father’s Day was the perfect way to celebrate that partnership.
We cannot wait to see our parent community come together during our next event.
