Philosophy

“To give our children a fine start in life we must see that their surroundings satisfy their need for activity and development, remembering at the same time that our part is not that of instructor and interferer but of helper.”

Our Philosophy

Environment matters more than instruction. Children are naturally driven to explore, move, and make sense of the world. If their surroundings are rich with opportunities—things to touch, build, question, and experiment with—they will develop skills almost on their own. In contrast, a restrictive or overly passive environment dulls that natural drive.

We believe that nature provides one of the most significant driving forces of curiosity and exploration and is an integral part of the learning process.

We advocate that children are free to exercise their rights to choose, explore, play, and develop in line with their needs, and their opinions should be taken while making decisions about them.

Our jobs as adults and educators are to respect that freedom to explore, discover, learn, and provide a child a safe environment that supports their quest for self-construction through their experiences.

Montessori Minds believes that every child is a unique and competent being who is constantly evolving by engaging with the environment in a purposeful and meaningful way.

We use the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) to guide our program, and our Montessori curriculum strengthens it by helping children reach their potential and develop the individual and social responsibilities they need for life.

This guides our planning around sustainability and instilling respect for all living things around us.

Our Vision

To inspire a lifelong love of learning by empowering each child with knowledge, a positive mindset, essential skills for self-construction, and a deep understanding of the world around them.

Our Mission

Our mission at Montessori Minds is to provide a stimulating, multi-sensory learning environment where children actively engage in meaningful, purposeful activities. We support each child in shaping their unique identity and bringing out the very best of their mind, body, and soul.
The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six.
